Biography

Funeral service for Marlan W. Fischer, age 44, of rural Indiahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2009 at Lighthouse Church of God, 800 NW Rogers Lane, Lawton, Oklahoma with Rev. Delbert Hughes and Rev. James Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Marlan passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

Marlan W. Fischer was born on March 3, 1965 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Herman Benjamin and Mozelle (Cooper) Fischer. He attended Robert E. Greiner School for the Handicapped in Lawton for several years, later transferring to public school in Cache, Indiahoma and Alvarado, Texas. He was a member of Lighthouse Church of God in Lawton, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his mother Mozelle of the home; three brothers: Alvin Fischer of Indiahoma, Vernon B. Fischer and his wife Sharla of Amarillo, Texas, and Randy “Pete” Fischer and his wife Joyce of Mountain View; twelve nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; three aunts; one uncle; a host of cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father: Herman Benjamin Fischer; his paternal grandparents: Casper Benjamin and Katie Fischer; and his maternal grandparents: E. L. “Babe” and Ruby Cooper.
