Funeral services for Alton Wayne "Al" Davis, age 49, of Tipton, Oklahoma, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Church of Christ, 201 North Broadway Avenue, Tipton, Oklahoma with Joe Waugh and Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Davis passed away Friday morning, December 8, 2023, at his home in Tipton, surrounded by loved ones.
Alton Wayne Davis was born on November 26, 1974, in Modesto, California, to Dennis Davis and Judy Hall-Cardenas. He attended school in Blair, Oklahoma, and received his G.E.D. through the Altus school system. He continued his education and accomplished a Doctorate in Ministries from Fuller Theological Seminary. Later, he followed his passion for cosmetology, where he received a degree from Elite Academy of Cosmetology. He loved the interaction with the people who sat in his chair.
Alton met and married the love of his life on March 16, 2002, at the Quartz Mountain Lodge. They were happily married for 21 years. They have raised four beautiful children together.
He was a family man who loved being a firefighter, minister, Sunday school teacher, friend, father, and husband. He was kind, caring, and would give anyone the shirt off his back without a second thought.
Alton is survived by his loving wife, Sheila; four children of the home, Anna, Abby, Alee, and Alan; his father, Dennis Davis and his wife Crickett of Blair, Oklahoma; mother, Judy Cardenas of Tipton, Oklahoma; siblings, Dawn Foshee and her husband Kyle, James Froelich and his wife Krissy, and Denny Davis and his wife Krysti, all of Blair, Oklahoma, maternal grandfather, Vernon Hall; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rev. Doyle and Betty Davis; maternal grandmother, Anna Hall; step-father, Mike Cardenas, and uncle, Ray Davis.
Memorial donations may be given to the Tipton Children's Home in loving memory of Alton Wayne Davis.
