Obituary

Funeral service for Anna Ruth Hickerson , age 79, of rural Indiahoma, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Peace Congregational Church with Rev. Jim Bob Roberts and Rev. Kerry Malakosky officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Hickerson passed away on February 17, 2015 at Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder. Anna Ruth Hickerson was born on March 18, 1935 in Chattanooga, Oklahoma to Casper and Katherine Elizabeth (Stoll) Fischer. She attended elementary school at Hiawatha School, later transferring to Chattanooga and graduating from Chattanooga High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to James Harold Hickerson on February 14, 1954 at Peace Congregational Church. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2007. Anna Ruth enjoyed cooking and sewing. She made shirts, dresses and many suits for business men. She had also done automotive upholstery, flower arranging and crafting. She and James enjoyed traveling over the United States. She had acted as president of the Gideon Auxiliary and former president of the Lawton Craft Association. Anna Ruth was active in the attending church and school events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a life-time member of Peace Congregational Church. She is survived by four children, Dennis Hickerson and his wife Eva Jo of Lawton, Stephen Hickerson and his wife Lewanna of Keller, Texas, Mellyna Patterson and her husband Bobby of Indiahoma and Larry Hickerson also of Indiahoma; seven grandchildren, Melody Rasor and husband Calvin, Brent Patterson and his companion Laura Elam, Shaun Hickerson and wife Megan, Shane Hickerson and wife Natalie, Katherine Hickerson and her companion Jake Townsend, Lane Casper Hickerson and JoMarie Hickerson; great-grandchildren, Jaxson Rasor, Elizabeth Janice Patterson, Ellis Ray Hickerson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, one grandson, Donnie James Hickerson; two brothers, Sam Fischer and Herman Fischer. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Frederick. Jackson Funeral Home 923 W.
