Funeral service for Barbara Gayle Lucas age 76, of Mountain Park, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick with Rev. Harlon Woodall officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery and the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Lucas passed away Sunday morning, December 19, 2017, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.

Barbara Gayle (Shelton) Lucas Was born December 14, 1941, in Mountain Park, Oklahoma to Aaron Chaffin and Nora Lou (Daugherty) Shelton. She attended Mountain Park Schools. On January 14, 1958, she and Julius Ray Lucas were united in marriage in Manitou, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death March 6, 2006. Barbara had been employed by C & J Bait Shop, Water Hole 183, Willis Quick Stop and later for Georgia's in Snyder.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Ray Lucas and Marvin Don Lucas both Mountain Park, Oklahoma; three sisters, Sharon Kay Box and her husband Galen of Fairview, Oklahoma, Diana Sue Steiger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Kathy LaJune Mathey and her husband Eddie of Yukon Oklahoma; two brothers, Glen Dewayne Shelton and his wife Rosella of Conroe, Texas and Michael Leonard Shelton of Spring, Texas; five grandchildren, Timothy Lucas, Justin Lucas, Jessica Lucas, Matthew Lucas and his wife Brandy, and Lisa Walker; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Karen Lucas; and three brothers, Jimmie Ray Shelton, Tommie Joe Shelton and Jerry Dan Shelton.
