Funeral service for former Frederick and Lindsey resident, Beatrice Hill, age 92, of Yukon, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2019, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick with Rev. James Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Hill passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at her home in Yukon, Oklahoma.
Martha Beatrice "Sis" (Chambers) Hill was born September 22, 1927, in Bradley, Oklahoma to Evert and Lillie (Skelton) Chambers. She attended Sandy Grove through the eighth grade and then transferred to Alex Public School, graduating from Alex High School in 1945. On November 28, 1945, she and Milton Hill were united in marriage in Electra, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1995. Beatrice attended beauty school in Chickasha, Oklahoma and graduated from the School of Cosmetology in 1949. She worked as a beautician for several years in Blanchard, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bradley; and served as Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Beatrice worked on the Tillman County Election Board, in Tipton & Frederick serving as Counter, Clerk & Judge for many years. Her hobbies included sewing, crafts, quilting, canning, dominos & beating your socks off playing chicken foot. She was most proud of spending time with family & friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Debra Annette Donathan of Yukon, Oklahoma; one son, Glen Dale Hill and his wife Robin of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Geraldine Chambers and his wife Ethel of Plainview, Texas and Ronnie Chambers of Diana, Texas; one sister, Virginia Jones and her husband James of Salado, Texas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Donald Gean Hill; three brothers, Jack, Albert & Carrell Chambers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation - Cancer Research in memory of Martha Beatrice Hill.
