She was born August 18, 1948, to Robert and Bethel (Cogburn) Gardener. She attended Victory School and graduated from Davidson High School with the Class of 1966. Following high school, Bobbie moved to Oklahoma City where she worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and attended modeling school developing confidence and poise. She later worked for the Better Business Bureau where she earned the loyalty and respect of those who worked alongside her through her hard work and genuine character.

She returned to Frederick and worked at the National Bank of Frederick from 1967 until 1976. While working at McFall Pharmacy in 1976, she met the love of her life, Eddie Steven “Steve” Overstreet. The couple was united in marriage on April 2, 1976, at Bible Baptist Church in Frederick, with Steve’s father, Eddie Doyle Overstreet, officiating the ceremony. Bobbie worked diligently as the First Baptist Church secretary for over 18 years and was also a faithful member of the First Baptist Church.

Bobbie was a strong determined woman who faced life’s challenges with courage and grace. She had a beautiful spirit, a caring heart and was always willing to help others.

Bobbie enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. She loved reading Harlequin novels, collecting stamps and coins, and was an accomplished calligrapher who often shared her talents by teaching others the art of beautiful handwriting. She also had a passion for photography and treasured capturing nature as well as special moments with family and friends.

In addition to her parents Robert and Bethel Gardener, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Alice.
