Bonnie (West)
Mcintyre
Sep 26, 1932 — Dec 20, 2024
Frederick
Graveside service for former Frederick resident, Bonnie Lee McIntyre age 92, will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. McIntyre passed away December 20, 2024, at Magnolia Place in Rogers, Arkansas. Service is under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.
Bonnie Lee West was born in Earth, Texas on September 26, 1932, to Kirby Lee & Flossie May West. She joined a big sister, May Louise and twin brothers, Arlie and Charlie followed her. They lived in Earth until around 1945 when they made the trek back to Frederick where her daddy's parents lived. She graduated from Frederick High School graduating with the Class of 1950. On July 14, 1951, she and Dennis Wayne McIntyre were united in marriage in Frederick. This marriage blessed them with three daughters. Beverly Denise, Valerie Jan and Lee Suzanne. Bonnie and Dennis divorced in 1971.
Bonnie was affectionately called "Bootsie" or "Boots" by her parents and siblings.
"Bootsie" was a strong minded, stubborn, fiercely private, hard-working woman. Her dad said that she could outwork three grown men. Her favorite saying was "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." She loved fabrics and sewing. She was frugal and smart about money, so she chose bookkeeping as her preferred line of work and worked in that field for many years. She bought and operated a dry cleaners in Pryor, Ok for a number of years. She then bought an apartment 4-plex in the historic district of Enid, Ok. She remodeled, redecorated, relandscaped everything in that place. She LOVED those apartments. She then decided to buy a small house in Hillsdale, Ok to "remodel" for her forever home. She not only remodeled but gutted that house down to the studs to remodel at 80 years old. (Her and one other worker did most of the gutting). She lived in that house until she was diagnosed with dementia in 2020. She lived with Denise for a while, then moved to Arkansas where Suzi had moved on retirement.
She is survived by three daughters, Denise McIntyre of Carrier, Oklahoma, Valerie Fredrickson and husband Bob of Humble, Texas, and Suzi Lakin and husband Wes of Beaver, Arkansas, her grandchildren, Jason Smith and fiancé, Chelsea Wells of Austin, TX, Cody Lakin and wife Kate of Hudson Oaks, TX, Lindsay Corder and husband Blake of Alva, OK, and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, May Louise, her twin brothers, Arlie and Charlie, and a granddaughter, Shelley Smith.
