Celebration of Life for former Frederick resident, Carlos Baker, age 48, of Lawton, Oklahoma, will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, 201 East Grand Avenue, Frederick, Oklahoma, with Rev. Dyke Crane officiating.  Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mr. Baker passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, October 28, 2024, at a Lawton hospital, surrounded by his family.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, November 8, 2024, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, 921 West Gladstone Avenue, Frederick, Oklahoma, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Carlos Shavon Baker was born November 10, 1975, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Lorraine Elizabeth Baker.  He attended Frederick Public Schools, graduating from Frederick High School with the Class of 1994.  He played football for the "Bombers" as a defensive tackle.  The team won State Championship in 1993, 1994, and 1995. While in high school, he worked at the Frederick Pizza Hut. He later attended O.U., where he played for the "Sooners".  Carlos worked as a Quality Control Supervisor for Ben E Keith in Fort Worth, Texas.  After moving to Tipton, Oklahoma, he worked for the Southwest Juvenile Center in Manitou, Oklahoma, until the center closed.

He leaves, and cherishes his only daughter, Kira Evaige of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister, Deundra Baker of Tipton, Oklahoma; two aunts, Christine Holmes of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Corrine Holmes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one uncle, Carl Baker, Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma; his companion, Veronda Nash of Lawton, Oklahoma; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorriane Elizabeth "Bugga" Baker; his grandmother, Travis Baker; and his great-grandmother, Ida Simpson whom he loved dearly.
