Funeral service for former Davidson resident, Clara Faye Hughes age 89, of Norman, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Hughes passed away Monday, January 23, 2017, in a Norman hospital.

Clara Faye (Peck) Hughes was born January 11, 1928, in Alex, Oklahoma to Sam Henry and Virgie Lois (Summers) Peck. She attended Lindsey Public School. On January 30, 1943, she and Floyd Bur Hughes were united in marriage at Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mr. Hughes preceded her in death on March 30, 2008. Clara Faye was a homemaker. She helped Floyd on the farm doing whatever was needed. Her family and friends were her life! She was an excellent cook and baker. She loved getting together with family and friends and play cards, Skip Bo and Bingo. She was a member of the Davidson First Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law, Gene and Karen Hughes of Claremore, Oklahoma and Jana Hughes of Norman, Oklahoma; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Bobby and Peggy Koster of McMinnville, Tennessee and Bess Hughes of Iowa Park, Texas; three grandchildren, Brad Hughes and his wife Karri Owasso, Oklahoma, Tina Hughes and her husband Robby Nunn of Norman, Oklahoma and Janet Coon of Claremore, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Lauren Hughes, Sydnee Nunn and Kristin Coon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Hughes; one son, Sam Hughes; twin sister, Cledith Mae Peck; and one brother, Sam Henry Peck, Jr.
