Obituary

Colina H. Abbott age 83, a former resident of Friendswood, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder, Oklahoma.  A service will be held at a later date.

Colina (Hunt) Abbott was born March 24, 1938, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, to Joey O'Dell and Maudie O'Vela (Holman) Hunt.  She attended Guthrie Center High School, graduating with the Class of 1956. On June 3, 1956, she was united in marriage to Cecil Gayle Abbott in Guthrie Center, Iowa.  The family moved to the Houston area where she resided most of her life.  She worked as an executive secretary for special education at Clear Creek Independent School District in League City, Texas, retiring in 1997.  Colina taught Sunday School and lead Ladies Bible Study for many years.  She was an outstanding accompanist where she played the piano and organ for worship.  She and Cecil enjoyed traveling extensively through the United States and abroad.  Mr. Abbott preceded her in death on December 6, 2018. She was a longtime member of the Bay Area Christian Church in Webster, Texas.

Colina is survived by her children, Dawn M. Caha and her husband Lonnie of Cache, Oklahoma, Kelly J. Davis and her husband Brett of Irving, Texas, Lisa M. Crake and her husband Gavin of London, England, Joey G. Abbott and his wife Monica of Tomball, Texas and Becky A. Brewer and her husband John of Eagle River, Alaska; grandchildren, Aurora Taylor and her husband Brian, Hope Blair and her husband Jon, Maudie Davis, India Crake, Joseph Crake, Ashton Moore, Patrick Moore, Kevin Brewer and his wife Jannea and Gordon Brewer; great-grandchildren, Ainsley Taylor, Barrett Taylor, Magnolia Blair, Ember Brewer, Liana Brewer, and Zuri Brewer; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other beloved family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joey and Vela Hunt; her husband Cecil Abbott; and five brothers, Randall Hunt, Clyde Hunt, Virgil Hunt, William Hunt & Gordon Hunt.
