Funeral service for Curtis Isham age 79, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the First Baptist Missionary Church, 400 South First Street, Frederick, with Pastor Al Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandfield Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Isham passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024, at his home, at the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 23 days.
Visitation will be on Friday evening, August 30, 2024, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, 921 West Gladstone Avenue, Frederick, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.
Herbert Curtis Isham was born by a midwife on February 2, 1945, to Henry and Fannie Mae (Richardson) Isham at their home between Hollister and Loveland, Oklahoma. He attended Grandfield and Loveland Public Schools, later graduating from Boyd High School in Frederick. On July 27, 1968, he and Christine Seamster were united in marriage at Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 5, 1983. He later married Linda Kay Mayfield on April 12, 1999, in Vernon. Curtis was employed by the First United Methodist Church for many years, later Tillman County Court House, which inspired him to start his own janitorial business. He loved fishing, and all types of sports, but most of all he loved the Lord. Curtis was a martial art instructor; and a member of the First Baptist Missionary Church.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Isham of the home; four sons, Rodney Isham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kirby Isham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Anthony Seamster of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Kevin Isham and his wife Heather of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Katrina Gunter and her husband John of Yukon, Oklahoma and Keianna Mayfield of Frederick, Oklahoma; two step-children, Tamika Toombs and her husband Gerald of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Cody Mayfield of Frederick, Oklahoma; two brothers, David Isham of Lawton, Oklahoma and Peter Isham of Lawton, Oklahoma; two sisters, Hattie Walton and her husband Samuel of Altus, Oklahoma, and Betty Seamster and her husband Eddie of Frederick, Oklahoma; eighteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Fannie Mae Isham; his first wife, Christine Isham; three brothers, Abraham Isham, Jimmy Isham, and James Isham; two sisters, Doris Wright and Ruby Johnson; and one grandson, Ramon Isham.
