Funeral service for former Frederick resident, Damita, aka Donita Michelle Johnson, age 62, of Norman, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the First Baptist Missionary Church, 400 S. First Street, Frederick, Oklahoma with Rev. Michael Logan officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Ms. Johnson passed away at the Norman Regional Health Plex in Norman, Oklahoma.
Donita Michelle Johnson was born on July 31, 1959, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Billy Gene Palms and Evelyn Bynum Johnson. She attended Boyd High School and later transferred to Frederick High School where she graduated with the Class of 1977. She began working at Schlegel Oklahoma, transitioning through several owners and working as a customer service representative for Henniges Automotive with a 34 year career. Donita loved to cook, travel and she was a huge sports fan; especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma City Thunder. She was a member of the First Baptist Missionary Church in Frederick. Her church family was a huge part of her life.
She is survived by one daughter, Shanorma Stewart of Norman, Oklahoma; two brothers, Sammy Ray Johnson of Frederick and Steve Wilkerson of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Patrice Stewart of Norman, Oklahoma, Lesa Huff and husband Dathan of Cleveland, Ohio and Alette Johnson of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Alayasia, Liam and Asia Stewart all of Norman, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Bynum Johnson and her father Billy Gene Palms; and one sister, Eunice Johnson.
