Celebration of Life for Dennis Ray Williams age 73, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Corye Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Williams passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.
Dennis Ray Williams was born on February 1, 1948, in Ada, Oklahoma to Hubert Grant and Wanda Mae (Walton) Williams. He attended Ada Public Schools, graduating from Ada High School in 1966. He later attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. On April 5, 1969, he and Vickie Larraine Lyday were united in marriage at the Bible Baptist Church in Ada.
Dennis was a self-employed Entrepreneur. He owned and operated the Sonic Drive-In in Frederick from 1973 to 1985, at which time he purchased Dad's Convenience Store, opening the store in 1986. Dennis previously owned numerous smoke shops, rental properties, and at one time owned twenty-three Sonic Drive-ins; he was a certified auctioneer. Dennis served on the Frederick Volunteer Fire Department from 1982 to 1989. He had previously held the State Skeet Shoot Championship in Oklahoma and Texas. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Frederick.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vickie Williams of the home; three sons, Dennis Williams, II and his wife Amber, Nicholas Williams and his wife Cassie, and Heston Williams all of Frederick, Oklahoma; one brother, Bobby Williams of Lawton, Oklahoma; one sister, Pat Sutton and her husband Lyndon of Edmond, Oklahoma; five Grandchildren, Autumn Ufer and her husband Kyler, Grant Williams, Nixon Williams, Carter Williams, and Marlee Williams; and one great-granddaughter, Karlee Ufer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Wanda Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick Volunteer Fire Department, in memory of Dennis Ray Williams.
The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening, September 21, 2021, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick.
