Funeral service for former Frederick resident Donald "Don" Lee, age 86, of Irving, Texas will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, 201 E. Grand Avenue, Frederick, Oklahoma with Rev. Josh Boles officiating.  Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Road, Elgin, Oklahoma.  Mr. Lee passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Irving, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

Donald "Don" Lee was born May 5, 1936, in Purcell, Oklahoma to Melvin and Inez (Gibson) Lee.  He attended Boone Elementary School, and later transferred to Apache Public School.  In 1957, Don started his 40+ year career with Sears & Roebuck.  On November 10, 1960, he was united in marriage to Christine Davis in Duncan, Oklahoma.  Don's greatest pleasure in life was spending time with family and finding work that "just had to be done."  He was known as Mr. Fix-it man.  After his retirement, Don and Chris enjoyed traveling with her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Helen Davis.  At an early age, Don accepted his Lord and Savior at the Baptist Church in Boone, Oklahoma.  He served in the Oklahoma National Guard for eight years.  After moving to Frederick in 1997, they were faithful and active members of the First Baptist Church in Frederick, Oklahoma.

Don is survived by his wife of 61 years, Chris Lee of Irving, Texas; one son, Bobby Lee of Irving, Texas; one daughter, Delona Verplank and her husband Robert of Flower Mound, Texas; three grandchildren, Lisa Kavanaugh and her husband Eric Westburg, Austin Verplank and his wife Amanda, and Bryce Verplank; one great-granddaughter, Finley Verplank; one sister, Nancy Thurman and her husband Barney of Apache, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, Randell Sechrist; and a host of dearly loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Inez Lee; one daughter-in-law, Karen Dugan-Lee; one sister, Melva Sechrist; and one brother, Gerald Lee.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Frederick, Oklahoma in memory of Donald "Don" Lee.

The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday afternoon, September 7, 2022, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, 921 W. Gladstone Avenue, Frederick, Oklahoma from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and then on Thursday, September 8, 2022, he may be viewed at the First Baptist Church in Frederick from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.
