Obituary

Funeral service for Donald Eugene Williams, age 62, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Antioch Baptist Church, 315 West Sycamore Avenue, Duncan, Oklahoma with Dr. Jerry W. Graham officiating.  Burial will follow in the Henderson-Harris Cemetery in Duncan, Oklahoma under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mr. Williams passed away on Tuesday evening at the Integris Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Donald Eugene Williams was born on February 9, 1961, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Cecil and Norma Jean (Brown) Williams. Donnie attended Duncan Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1979. Throughout high school, he excelled in track and football. In 1979, he won All State in Track, and his high football team were back-to-back State Champions in 1978 and1979.  The team went undefeated in 1979. He continued his education at Langston University.

He was baptized and dedicated his life to Jesus Christ and was later called to preach.

He soon married and to this union four children were born: ShaMia, DeJuan, Cecil, and Darlin. Prior to those children he had Tiffany L. Chaires.

He later moved to Poteau, Oklahoma and opened Jack Rabbit Detailing Shop, in honor of his grandmother, Katherine Jackson.  He eventually moved to Oklahoma City and opened his own trucking business, VIP Logistics.

He met and married Connie Johnson in 2019. He was blessed with special nieces and nephews, Lexi, Blakely, Brock and Kystan Sherman.

Those that knew Donnie knew he loved sports and especially loved the Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma City Thunder. If you called him, he would not talk about his health, but rather everything going on in the sporting world.

He is proceeded in death by his loving mother, Norma Jean Lennox, his stepfather Marion Lennox, Jr, and his grandmother, Katherine Jackson.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Connie Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his father, Cecil (Fay) Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sisters Kathy Williams and Marilyn (Charles) Calvin, both of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Deneen (Kent) Ross of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Ronald McDonald, Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma.

Five children, Tiffany Chaires of Dallas, Texas, ShaMia Thrash, DeJuan (Allison) Williams, Darlin Thrash, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Cecil Williams of Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Ten grandchildren; one uncle, Jimmy Brown; two aunts, Gwendolyn (Melvin Smokey) Sanders, and Charlotte Franklin all of Duncan, Oklahoma. Donnie leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to mourn him.
