Funeral service for former Frederick resident, Dorothy Helen Locklin, age 96, of Elk City, Oklahoma will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Haverland officiating. Mrs. Locklin passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the Elk City Nursing Center.
Dorothy Helen (Hash) Locklin was born on March 16, 1920 in Tipton, Oklahoma to Gentry Bane and Liddie Ellen (Evert) Hash. On September 12, 1937, she was united in marriage to Eugene "Gene" Locklin in Manitou, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2002. Dorothy's church was her life and she was a faithful member of the 13th & Josephine Church of Christ in Frederick. She loved vegetable gardening, canning, quilting and traveling in the R.V.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Locklin of Elk City and Gerald Locklin and wife Linda of Daphne, Alabama; one brother, Kenneth Hash of Smithville, Arkansas; one sister, Elsie Breazeal of Mountain Home, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Deanna Bullock, Kristi Milam, Michael Locklin and wife Shirley, Julie Locklin, Salena Dixon and husband Toby, Melissa Brown and husband Pat, Bert Locklin and wife Kellan, Ben Kroblin and Alex Kroblin; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Darrell Locklin; two daughters-in-law, Polli Locklin and Linda Locklin; and seven siblings.
