Private family funeral service for Dorothy C. Spraggins, age 94, of Frederick will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Roberts officiating.  Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mrs. Spraggins passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Frederick Nursing Center.

Dorothy Colleen Mitchell Spraggins was born on July 19, 1926 in Frederick to Louie E. and Viola Maude (Fillmore) Mitchell.  She attended first grade in Levelland, Texas, second thru tenth at Victory Consolidated #11 and eleventh & twelfth in Frederick.  She graduated from Frederick High School in 1944. She attended Abilene Christian University. She was united in marriage to William Perry Spraggins in Grandfield, Oklahoma on September 25, 1943.  He preceded her in death on March 24, 1998.   Dorothy had worked at the Frederick Airfield, Bell Telephone and Lemco Industries in Levelland, Texas.  She then attended Cameron College and graduated  in 1972 with a BS in Education and began teaching math and science at Frederick Elementary.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Frederick where she taught the Fellowship Class and bible school. Dorothy was a member of the Frederick Golf and Country Club, the Frederick Philharmonic Club, Red River Tolers and ESA.

She is survived by one daughter, Diana Lynne Clift and her husband Robert of Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma; one son, William P. "Bill" Spraggins, II and his wife Judy of Frederick; grandchildren, Darin Clift and his wife Tamara, Misti Mathis and her husband Sammy, Landon Clift and his wife Wendy, Myles Spraggins and wife Tiffany, Quinn Spraggins; great grandchildren, McKenna Opitz and husband Seth, Cache Clift and wife Bailey, Kyanna Tripp and husband Rhett, Makyah Clift, Paris Spraggins, Scout Spraggins, Kaden Mathis, Chayton Bynum and Carter Coelling; great-greatgrandchildren, Stryker and Stecker Opitz and Radley Tripp; nephew, Mike Mitchell; Niece Ginger Gilbert; and a special caregiver, Myra Gaines.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Perry Spraggins in 1998, her parents, Louie E.  & Maude Mitchell; father-in-law, Robert Spraggins; mother-in-law, Ruth Spraggins; her brother, L.E.  Mitchell, Jr. in 2000.
