Obituary

Private family graveside service for Douglas Loftis, age 68, of Lawton, Oklahoma, will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Les Banks officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.   Mr. Loftis passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at his home in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Douglas Loftis was born June 5, 1953, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to M.L. and Betty Lois (Parish) Loftis, Jr.  He attended Frederick Public Schools and graduated from Frederick High School, with the Class of 1971.   He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State College for one year, then went to work at Kellwood's Manufacturing Plant until the company moved.  Doug was the first employee hired at Schelgel in Frederick, Oklahoma where he continued to work through all the name changes until his retirement from Henniges after forty-one and one-half years.    On May 23, 1975, he was united in marriage to Becky Lynn Kelley at the Bible Baptist Church in Frederick, Oklahoma. He enjoyed spending time in Red River, New Mexico where he fished and loved the mountain atmosphere.  Doug and Becky always enjoyed taking his parents along wherever they went.  He was a big-hearted gentleman and never complained.  He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.

Doug is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Becky Loftis of the home; one son, Kent Loftis and his wife Megan of Lawton, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Mason Loftis, Logan Loftis, and Hudson Loftis; one sister, Sharon Masoner and her husband Roy of Waurika, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, Kenny Kinder of Chattanooga, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Kay Kelly of Waurika, Oklahoma and Kim Boren and her husband Tim also of Waurika, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, M.L. and Betty Loftis and one sister, Trina Kinder.

Memorial contribution may be made to the Lung Cancer Association or to the donor's choice in memory of Douglas Loftis
