Funeral service for Draigen Brent Turman, age 21 months, of Frederick will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Frederick with Bonner Slayton, Joey Zodrow and Shane Kendrix officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Draigen passed away on Friday afternoon, September 25, 2015 at Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City after a brave battle with Leukemia. Draigen Brent Turman was born on December 22, 2013 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Paul Brent Turman and Haley Marie Whitson. Draigen was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 2 months and has fought fearlessly over the last year and a half. He will always be remembered by his "strong man" face, flexing his muscles, his contagious smile and "Olympic" scooting ability. He loved reading books, being outside, watching Frozen and dancing to the music; but most of all he LOVED being cuddled by his mommy and lamby pie. He is survived by his mother: Haley Whitson of the home; his father, Paul Turman of Amarillo, Texas; his grandparents, Marie "Momo" and J. Pa Everhart of Frederick, Brent "Pappy" Whitson and Erik Tierney of San Antonio, Texas and Shellie and Mike Garcia of Amarillo, Texas; great-grandparents, Brenda Whitson of Frederick, Billy and Dorothy Rushin of Frederick, Paul and Sandy Everhart of Lone Wolf and Walt and Marcia Brinson of Fritch, Texas; uncles and aunts, Lance and Crystal Whitson of Frederick and Jake and Jon Everhart of Baldwin, Maryland; cousins, Landon, Layton and Lawson Whitson of Frederick; half sister, Aspen Turman of Amarillo, Texas; and a host of other family members and many friends.
