Earl B. Walden, age 92, of Tipton, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Lawton Fort Sill Veterans Center.
He was born October 26, 1933, in Hanna, Oklahoma, to George and Etta (Pendley) Walden. He attended Hanna schools and graduated with the Class of 1951.
On January 1, 1959, he was united in marriage to Jimmie Lou Coffer. Together they shared many years of marriage and partnership in both life and business. In 1977, Earl and Jimmie Lou moved to Tipton from the Wichita Mountains area and owned and operated Hop & Sack Quickmart for a period of time. They also owned and operated Cotton Patch Florist for more than 40 years. They worked wonderfully together because, as family and friends often joked, Earl did whatever Jimmie Lou told him to do. Earl spent much of his working career in the automobile dealership industry. He worked for Howard Smith Ford and later for Dan Mullins Nissan until his retirement. He had a passion for yardwork and took great pride in keeping his property beautiful. He was also an avid sports fan who faithfully followed the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jimmie Lou on October 5, 2020; three brothers: Odell, Cliff, and Carl Walden; and a sister: Dortha Lee White.
He is survived by his daughter Kim Garrod of Yukon; granddaughter Kailee Hardesty and husband Zac of Yukon; and a great great grandson Cooper Hardesty.
