Funeral service for Eddie Ray "Chickiey" Whitehead, age 50, of Tipton, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Tipton with Rev. Don Altom officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Whitehead passed away on Thursday evening, January 24, 2019, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.

Eddie Ray Whitehead was born on May 13, 1968, in Altus, Oklahoma to Eddie Whitehead and Lorene Johnson. He attended Tipton Public Schools and graduated from Tipton High School in 1986. He later attended Aladdin Beauty College in Altus. He worked as a cosmetologist for many years. He was united in marriage to Michael Hooker on February 10, 2016, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Tipton.

He is survived by his husband, Michael Hooker-Whitehead of Tipton, Oklahoma; his mother, Lorene Johnson of Tipton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Robert Watts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Detrick Whitehead of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Rena' Whitehead of Hobart, Oklahoma; two aunts: Carrie Hill of Tipton, Oklahoma and Cleo Hamilton of Duncan, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Whitehead; and two brothers, Billy Ray Love and Odis Ray Whitehead.
