Funeral service for Eddie Wright will be Monday, June 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, 921 W. Gladstone Ave., Frederick, Oklahoma, with Elder Michael Green officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, Oklahoma, at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Wright passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Clinton, Oklahoma.

On March 8, 1948, in Frederick, Oklahoma, Eddie was born to William (Will) Wright and Beamer Lee (Thomas) Wright. He is the seventh son of the 11 children born from that union. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country until 1970. Concluding army life, Eddie started work at Central Leather Goods as a press operator. While working there, Eddie met and fell in love with Doris Isham. They were soon married and from that union was born a son, Christopher Wright. Soon after his daughter, Dianna Weakley, was born, whose mother is Girtha Weakley.

Eddie lived a simple life. He loved to cook and therefore loved to eat. He was employed at Big Ed's Burger as a cook until he fell ill and could no longer work. Eddie lived out the rest of his years at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. He loved being around his army buddies reliving and sharing those times only a veteran could understand.

He and sister Frankie were the last two of that clan, now there's just Frankie. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; Will and Beamer Wright; his brothers, James (Sonny), Phillip, Jimmy, Aubrey, Harvey, Will, and Donald Ray; and his sisters, Faye Lois and Beamer Lee.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Frankie (Charles) Harris; his son, Christopher Wright; his daughter Dianna Weakley; two daughters, Rosemary Seamster and Christie Seamster; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
