Edith M. Duke, age 81, of Tipton, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday morning, October 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at her daughter's home in Lawton, Oklahoma. The family will gather for burial at the Tipton Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023, with Timothy Wiggins officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.

Edith was born February 19, 1942, to Cecil and Sylvia (Canada) Murphy, at their family homestead in Elmer, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Duke on September 19, 1959, in Vernon, Texas.   To this union three children were born, Shane Duke, Kenny Duke, and Lisa (Duke) Kemp.  Edith and Kenneth were married for sixty-four years.

She lived her life for her family and dearly loved her dog, Peanut. She was a loving and caring person who would do anything for anyone. She will be terribly missed by family and friends.

Edith is survived by husband, Kenneth Duke of the home; sister Sandy Callins; children, Shane Duke, Kenny Duke and his wife Rosie, and Lisa Kemp and her husband Anthony; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Sylvia; sisters, Sarah Swint and Anita Pair; brother, James Murphy; and grandsons, Shawn Duke and Justin Duncan.
