Obituary

Funeral service for former Frederick resident Edna Jean (Chaney) McDonald age 72, of Lawton, Oklahoma will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Hillmon officiating.  Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mrs. McDonald passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, at her home in Lawton.

Edna Jean (Chaney) McDonald was born October 18, 1949, in Frederick, Oklahoma to Columbus Chaney and Earnestine McDaniel.  She attended Kennedy Elementary and later graduated from Boyd High School in 1968.  On August 1, 1986, she and Ronald McDonald were united in marriage in Lawton, Oklahoma.  She worked as a seamstress for Kellwood Manufacturing Company and Betsy Bra Company in Frederick, and later National Garment Company in Chandler, Oklahoma.  Edna was an outstanding cook and was well known for her pies and German Chocolate Cakes.  She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and playing cards.  Edna never met a stranger and was known for her storytelling.  She was a member of the Church of the Living God.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald McDonald of the home; two sons, Julian Chaney of Los Angeles, California, and Darrin Chaney and his wife Eva of Las Vegas, Nevada; one stepson, Ronald McDonald, Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma; one stepdaughter, Marilyn Calvin and her husband Charles of Duncan, Oklahoma; one brother, Billy Chaney and his wife JoAnn of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three sisters, Mary Chaney of Sacramento, California, Tammy Chaney of Sacramento, California, and Debra Robins of Los Angeles, California; four step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus Chaney and Earnestine Robins; two brothers, Bobby Chaney and Gerald Robins; one sister, Gloria Wright; and one niece Diamond Robins.

The family will receive friends and family on Monday Evening, October 10, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick.
