Requiem Mass for Edward Edmund "Ed" Jezisek age 80, of rural Grandfield, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 600 Davy Drive, Burkburnett, Texas with Fr. Rev. Khoi V. Tran, officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Cemetery, Davidson, Oklahoma under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home, Frederick, Oklahoma. A visitation will be on Friday evening, April 12, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Burkburnett with the Rosary and Vigil to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Jezisek passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the United Regional Health Care Center as a result of an automobile accident.

Ed was born on November 15, 1938, in Granger, Texas to Ludwig Albert and Agnes Evelyn (Strmiska) Jezisek. He attended Granger Public Schools. On June 20, 1958, he and Kathryn LaVada Stephenson were united in marriage in Lamesa, Texas. To this union were born five children, Marlene, Cheryl, Edward II, Pat and Joe. He later married Leta Fay (Atkins) Wilson on October 28, 1987, in Sherman, Texas. Ed loved the outdoors; he farmed and worked with metal his entire life. He was a cotton gin mechanic in Midland and Big Spring, Texas. After Leta and he married, they continued traveling where he built and disassembled gins. They farmed the Basinger Home Place for many years and after Leta's death on August 27, 2017, Ed continued to do so. He was a member of the St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church of Burkburnett; and was a 4 ^th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his children, Marlene Leonard of Midland, Texas, Cheryl Mayne and her husband Thurman of Dallas, Texas, Edward Jezisek, II and his wife Karen of Chuluota, Florida, Pat Jezisek of Grandfield, Oklahoma, Joe Jezisek and his wife Kerry of Vista, California, Sheila Brockriede and her husband James of Electra, Texas, Susan Smith of Tipton, Oklahoma and Sharla Bennight and her husband James of Frederick, Oklahoma; twenty-four grandchildren: Christy Ahmann and her husband Rocky, Will Leonard and his wife Heather, Lauren Callo and her husband Carlos, Michael Mayne and his wife Morgan, William Mayne, Stephen Mayne, Nicola Brownlee and her husband James, Angela Thorpe and her husband Mike, Edward Jezisek, III and his wife Leah, Mindy Robinson, Josh Jezisek, Patrick Jezisek, Andrew Jezisek, Pete Jezisek, Reagan Jezisek, Scott Fillmore and his wife Rhonda, Misty Marsh and her husband Cary, Adam Brockriede and his wife Heather, Justin Smith and his wife Alicia, Alisha Castillo and her husband David, Toby Smith and his wife Alicia, Stormie Shelby, Sarah Floyd and her husband Zac and Jacob Bennight and his wife Maci; thirty-one great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who were special to Ed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludwig Albert and Agnes Evelyn Jezisek; his wife, Leta Fay Jezisek; four brothers, Louis Jezisek, Paul Jezisek, George Jezisek and Joe Jezisek; two sisters, Frances Synatzske and Tracy McDaniel; one son-in-law, Randy Smith; and one great-granddaughter, Charley Fay Smith.

In Lieu of Flowers during the Lenten Season, memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or to St. Jude Thaddeus Knights of Columbus Council, 600 Davy Drive, Burkburnett, Texas 76367, in memory of Edward Edmund "Ed" Jezisek.
