Obituary

Graveside service for Edwin "Drum" Drummond age 89, of Cache, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Cache Cemetery with Rev. Charles Rettig officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Drummond passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at a Lawton health care center.

Edwin Earl Drummond was born October 12, 1927, in Lawton, Oklahoma to William Earl and Ada Lee (Masoner) Drummond. He attended Cache Public School, graduating from Cache High School in 1947. He later attended Cameron State Agriculture College. On July 20, 1950, he and Treva June Ulrich were united in marriage at the Methodist Church in Cache. As a child, Edwin grew up living at the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge where his father worked for many years. Drum started his career at the Refuge on March 26, 1949, he continued living with his family there until his retirement. He served as foreman of one of the largest maintenance programs in the Refuge system. He worked for over 60 years; retiring in May of 2009, at which time he and Treva moved to Cache. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cache.

He is survived by his wife, Treva Drummond of the home; one son, Eddie Drummond of Cache, Oklahoma; one daughter, Vickie Drummond of Durant, Oklahoma; one grandson, Jeremy White and his wife Yana of McKinney, Texas; one sister-in-law, Jean Ulrich; his nieces and nephews, Annette Ulrich, Reford and Susan Ulrich, Raford and Debbie Ulrich, Randy Ulrich, Nancy and David Arms, and Sue and Tommy Blanton; his caregiver, Shari Carr; and several cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
