Funeral service for former Frederick resident Emma Mae Fondren age 90, of Aubrey, Texas will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Fondren passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at her home in Aubrey. Emma Mae (Edwards) Fondren was born December 25, 1923, in Tipton, Oklahoma to Daniel Harvey and Lula May (Kindrick) Edwards. She attended Tipton Public Schools, graduating from Tipton High School in 1940. On November 24, 1946, she and John Wesley Fondren, Jr. were united in marriage at Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1962. She was employed by the Denton State School as a trainer for direct care. Mrs. Fondren retired in 1986. After her retirement she returned to Frederick where she was a faithful member of the Trinity Baptist Church. She later joined New Hope Baptist Church after moving to Aubrey. She is survived by two daughters, Sue Green of Denton, Texas and Jean Roberts and her husband Terry of Whitesboro, Texas; nine grandchildren, John Fondren, Michael Ferrell, Anna Roberts and her husband Ross, Stacey McCasland and her husband Tim, Chad Fondren, Sabrina Ferrell, Stormy Ferrell and his wife Megan, Josh Roberts and Jake Roberts; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Leslie Fondren and John Wesley Fondren, III; seven brothers and one sister. Jackson Funeral Home 923 W.
