Funeral service for Fern Lorena Cottrell, age 101, will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 6th at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Cottrell passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 at her home.
Fern Lorena Hill Cottrell was born on November 3, 1914 in Loveland, Oklahoma to Fred and Lee (Hubble) Hill. She lived her entire life in Southwest Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Alton Andrew Cottrell on August 6, 1932, in the First Baptist Church parsonage in Frederick. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eastern Star and various home and garden clubs over the years. After her daughters were grown, she worked at Norwood's and Marcom's. She was a loving wife to Alton and mother to her three daughters. The joys of her life were her seven grandchildren, ten great grands and three great-great grands.
She is survived by daughter, Linda Webster of Leander, Texas, Judy Stewart and husband Larry of Frederick and Clydia Heap of Frederick, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Alan Webster and his wife Melissa, Clay Stewart and his wife Stephanie, Kerri Jacobs and her husband J.Frank, Roger Webster and his wife Sharon, Chad Heap and James Heap and his wife Bridget; great-grandchildren, Lindsay Wynn and her husband Eli, Leslie Jacobs, Chelsea Webster, Emily Webster, Tahnee Hunt and her husband Justin, River Stewart, Dalton Webster, Justin Heap, Colt Heap and Sadie Heap; great-great-grandchildren, Whitney Wynn and Emery Wynn, Zephie Webster-Porter and Landen Hunt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton Cottrell; granddaughter, Debra Youngs; two great-grandchildren, Sara Webster and Cody Stewart; son-in-law, Robert Webster and siblings, Wortha Roach, Ruth Cooper, Jake Hill, Juanita Fleming, Roy Hill, J. B. Hill, Freddie McKoen and two infant brothers.
