Gean Dudley

Funeral service for Gean Dudley, age 77, of rural Tipton, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Tipton Church of Christ, 201 N. Broadway, Tipton with Joe Waugh and Jimmie C. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Dudley passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, at her home in Tipton, Oklahoma.

Gean (Rooks) Dudley was born on May 1, 1945, in Cullman, Alabama to Milton Curtis and Katy Pauline (Hopson) Rooks.  Gean attended West Point School in West Point, Alabama where she graduated with the Class of 1963.  On November 26, 1975, she was united in marriage to John Elmo Dudley in Tipton, Oklahoma.  She had worked at Sam's Grocery in Tipton for many years; later working at Centra Leather Goods, Gibson Discount, Fox Lumber and Tipton Hop-N-Sack.  Most of all, she loved the outdoors and was a true farmer's wife.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, checking on her cattle, crocheting and playing bingo but her grandchildren were her pride and joy.  She was a member of the Tipton Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sons,  John Elmo Dudley II, of Tipton, Oklahoma and Kevin Dudley and his wife Shaily of Tipton, Oklahoma; one sister,  Ann Carden and husband Buddy of Cullman, Alabama; one brother-in-law, Stanley Dudley and wife Vee of Logandale, Nevada, one sister-in-law, Kathryn McCaslin of Tipton, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, John Elmo Dudley III, Kanyen Lee Dudley, Brianna Marie Baker and husband Matt, Curtis Andrew Dudley, Hunter Dale James Dudley, Issac Jerome Dudley, Levi William Dudley, Ian Graham and Tiran Graham; one great-grand-daughter, Cloe' Baker and special friends, Tera Leigh Winters and Toni Shands.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Pauline Rooks; two brothers; and one sister-in-law.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, August 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Home in Frederick.
