Funeral service for Gertrude Corene Lauer age 82, of Davidson, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick with Pastor Roy Newman officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Lauer passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Memorial Nursing Center in Frederick.
Gertrude Corene (Teague) May Lauer was born on November 27, 1938, in Quinton, Oklahoma to Manuel Henderson and Ivory Arizona (Eslick) Teague. She attended school in Anderson, Missouri. On December 8, 1955, she and Charles Clifton May were united in marriage in Grandfield, Oklahoma. Mr. May preceded her in death on September 7, 2005. She later married Richard Charles Lauer on August 12, 2007, in Alamosa, Colorado. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Frederick.
Corene could not wait for Black Friday to roll around, she was a shopping enthusiast. She was an awesome bread maker and enjoyed traveling. Her family and church were a very big part of her life; when she got sick, the thing that she missed most, was taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Lauer of the home; one son, Michael May and his wife Lawana of Bonham, Texas; four daughters, Sandra Fry and her husband Tommy of Waurika, Oklahoma, Debra Kunze of Port Lavaca, Texas, Karen Zito and her husband Russell of Weleetka, Oklahoma, and Mylinda Love of Frederick, Oklahoma; one sister, Linda Blackford and her husband James of Frederick, Oklahoma; four step-children, Tammy, Patricia, Brad, and Gail; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Zonia Teague; her first husband, Charley May; and her siblings, Lorene Hine, Virgil Teague, Charlie Teague, Arthur Teague, Irene Miller, Pauline Hine, and Junior Teague.
The family will receive friends and family on Monday evening, September 27, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel.
