Obituary

Funeral service for former Tipton resident, Gladys Leona Cryer age 84, of Moore, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at the Bible Baptist Church, 1600 N. 15 th Street, Frederick, Oklahoma with Rev. Brent Morey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Mrs. Cryer passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at the Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma.

Gladys Leona (Watkins) Cryer was born July 28, 1936, in Heavener, Oklahoma to Clarence Arthur and Annie Mae (Crownover) Watkins.  She attended school in Heavener, Oklahoma.  On March 21, 1955, she and Billy Joe Cryer were united in marriage in Poteau, Oklahoma.  Mr. Cryer preceded her in death on March 4, 2003.  Gladys worked as a seamstress for Centra Leather Goods and later Frybrant Manufacturing Plant.  After her husband and son passed away, she was employed by the Tipton Head Start Program, where she was affectionately known as "Grandma".  Gladys was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Frederick.  She was a loyal Tipton Tigers Fan and enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy!

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Bradley and her husband Mike of Frederick, Oklahoma; one son, Danny Cryer and his wife Connie of Tipton, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Betty Cryer of Tipton, Oklahoma; one brother, Edward Watkins of Heavener, Oklahoma; one sister, Norma Elmore of Frederick, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Crystal Goggin and her husband Joe, Heath Cryer and his wife Michelle, Ricky Cryer, Kevin Cryer and his wife Desiree, Dusty Cryer and his wife Lisa, Brock Cryer and his wife Chelsie, Sean Cryer and his wife Ashley, Ethan Cryer and his wife Angela, and Jacob David; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Annie Watkins; her husband, Billy Joe Cryer; two sons, Kerry Joe Cryer and Kerry Lee Cryer; one great-granddaughter, Sara Cryer; one brother, L.J. Watkins; and one niece, Tracy Lynn Watkins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, for Cancer Research in memory of Gladys Leona Cryer.

The family will receive friends and family on Monday evening, July 26, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Jackson Funeral Home in Frederick.
