Obituary

Graveside service for Gussie Mae Taylor age 96, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2016, in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Taylor passed away Friday, December 23, 2016, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Gussie Mae (Solomon) Taylor was born May 14, 1920, in Denton, Texas to Harry and Margaret (Wright) Solomon. She attended Frederick Public Schools, graduating from Frederick High School in 1938. She later attended Frederick Junior College. Gussie moved with her family to California in 1944, where she worked in a parachute factory during World War II. After her marriage to John Hugh Taylor on June 29, 1944, they returned to Frederick where they established a farming and ranching operation. Gussie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church where she worked in the youth department and served as a greeter.
She is survived by one son, John Clifford Taylor and his wife Suzanne of Frederick Oklahoma; one daughter, Susie Osborne and her husband Dan of Vernon, Texas; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, J.H. Solomon; and two sisters, Marie Morehouse and Mary Wilkes.
