Funeral service for Guy Curtis "Coach" Hillmon age 76, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, 201 E. Grand, Frederick, Oklahoma, with Rev. Lloyd Logan officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Coach Hillmon passed away Friday, December 20, 2019, at his home in Frederick.
Guy Curtis Hillmon was born April 28, 1943, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Jerry William and Henry Etta (Neal) Hillmon. He attended Boyd High where he lettered in football and track. He was an outstanding athlete and played Right Halfback on the 1961, All Area Football Team. He graduated from Boyd High School in 1962. Guy attended Murray State College in Tishimingo and later transferred to Cameron University in Lawton, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education. He and Mary Helen Adams were united in marriage on November 15, 1964, in Vernon, Texas. Guy coached in the Frederick Public School system for many years; as well as served as the driver education instructor. Mary Helen preceded him in death on April 30, 2001. On February 14, 2003, he and Minnie Ola (Habbary) Perry were married in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Missionary Church, where he served as Deacon and Usher for many years. He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the Boyd High Association. Guy was an avid sports fan, loved to play dominoes, and was known as "Everybody's Coach".
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Hillmon of the home; one son, Kerry Hillmon and his wife Angelique of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one daughter, Chastity Lord and her spouse Zakiya of Brooklyn, New York; four step-children, Deidra Perry of Atlanta, Georgia, Derica Perry of Frederick, Oklahoma, Tracy Perry of Lawton, Oklahoma and Norman Mayfield of Lawton, Oklahoma; three brothers, Paul Hillmon and his wife Brenda of Tyler, Texas, Elgia Hillmon and his wife Alice "Jean" of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Rev. Charles Hillmon and his wife Mary of Fort Worth, Texas; four sisters, Betty Hillmon Porter of Eastvale, California, Gwen Scypion and her husband Steve of Frederick, Oklahoma, Kay Lynn Askew of Omaha, Nebraska, and Merva Morgan and her husband Kenneth of Florissant, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Hillmon of Pittsford, New York and Susanne Hillmon of Penfield, New York; three grandsons, Kristian Hillmon, Devin Hillmon and Porter Lord; fifteen step-grandchildren; a special niece, Beverlie Lord and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Henry Etta Hillmon; two sisters, Eula Bernice Finley and Exlonia Williams; and two brothers, Joe Hillmon and Leroy Hillmon.
A wake service will be held on Thursday evening, December 26, 2019, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
