Funeral service f or former Tipton resident, Helen Ruth Hill, age 82, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Tipton, Oklahoma with Pastor Dwight Singleton officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick, Oklahoma.  Mrs. Hill passed away early Sunday morning, October 15, 2023, surrounded by her family, in the home of her sister in DeSoto, Texas.

Helen Ruth (Jones) Hill was born December 22, 1941, in Earth, Texas, to Joe and Lilly (Alexander) Jones.  She received her education at a country school outside of Tipton, Oklahoma.  She later received her GED.  Helen raised her six sons and later went to work as the Dietitian for the Frederick Memorial Nursing Center for many years.   She was a member of Business and Professional Women organization.   And, she was a life-long member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Tipton.

She is survived by four sons, Steven Hill and his wife Stephanie of Pilot Point, Texas, Craig Hill and his wife Tyann of Tipton, Oklahoma, Edward Hill, of Dallas, Texas, and Robert Hill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Howard Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three sisters, Dicie Sumlin of DeSoto, Texas, Mamie Satterwhite of Phoenix, Arizona, and Louise Cowen of Lawton, Oklahoma; twenty grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, and other family members.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lilly Jones: sons, Walter Hill, Jr., James Hill; sisters, Victoria Washington, Josephine Pitts, and Winifred Crawford; and the father of her sons, Walter Hill.
