Funeral service for ImaJean Sheffield age 83, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 2:30 P.M., Friday, June 21, 2019, at the Lighthouse Cathedral with Marty Sheffield officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Sheffield passed away Monday, June 17, 2019, at the Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
ImaJean (Riddle) Sheffield was born September 15, 1935, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Bernice Cunningham and Irene Joanna (Yoakum) Riddle. She attended Frederick Public Schools. On August 2, 1952, she and Thomas Edward Sheffield were united in marriage in Vernon, Texas. ImaJean's family was her pride and joy, but, those grandchildren where the apple of her eye. She enjoyed playing card games, dice games and bingo. As she got older, she loved traveling and going on vacations. She was a Pentecostal.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Peters of Norman, Oklahoma, Eddie Sheffield and his wife Betty of Frederick, Oklahoma, Steve Sheffield and his wife Linda of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Marty Sheffield and his wife Geri of Lawton, Oklahoma and Rhonda Aydelott and her husband Don of Vernon, Texas; four brothers, Bobby Riddle of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Floyd Riddle of Gallup, New Mexico, Roy Riddle of Fort Worth, Texas, and Glen Riddle of California; one sister, Linda Hernandez of Lawton, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren, Aric Peters and his wife Polly, Toby Sheffield and his wife Danielle, Kris Sheffield and his wife Shelby, April Willman and her husband Titus, Jake Sheffield, Jennifer Bourland and her husband Terry, Steven Sheffield and his wife Delaney, Thomas Sheffield, Lynn Sheffield, Karla Thomas and her husband Stewart, Amy Dysart and her husband Justin, Ashley Gagliardi and her husband Marco, Marty Sheffield II and his wife Taylor, Rachel Young and her husband Jay and Rebecca Aydelott; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a host of honorary grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Jerry Dale Sheffield; and one sister, Beatrice Gilley.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Cancer Research in memory of ImaJean Sheffield.
Mrs. Sheffield may be viewed on Thursday, from 9:00 A.M. till 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and then on Friday, from 10:00 A.M. till the time of service at the Lighthouse Cathedral.
