Funeral service for Irene June Martin, age 85, of rural Chattanooga will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga with Bob Bentley officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Martin passed away on Wednesday, January 20 , 2016 at her home.
Irene June (Moon) Singleton Martin was born on June 13 , 1930 to Robert and Lorene Maude (Ridgeway) Moon on the family home place near Faxon. She attended a one room school and later transferred to Indiahoma High School. She was united in marriage to Bobbie Joe Singleton on November 26 , 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 6 , 1995 after 49 years of marriage. Irene then married David Linville Martin on August 23, 1996 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 9 , 2016. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga. Irene was a homemaker and a cattle woman.
She is survived by her children, Glenda Kinney and husband Robert of Newalla, Jimmy Singleton and wife Lisa of Lawton, Donna Singleton of Snyder, Debbie Bowden and husband Tommy of Lawton, Telesa Bymaster and husband Mark of Cache, Penny DeLong of Elgin; her grandchildren, Melissa Firkins and husband Larry, Brian Kinney, Cassidy Singleton and wife Tanna, Nicholas Singleton, Casey Edgar and wife Michelle, Shaun Edgar, Kelly Edgar, Kara Anderson and husband Luke, Adam Bymaster and wife Kristen, Jordyn Zimmerman and husband Wes, Ashley Carrisalez and husband Justin, Liz Knott and husband James, Seth DeLong, Sarah DeLong, Aubrey Beckman and husband Kevin and Lindsey Conway and husband Jason; twenty three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grand-daughter; after she and David married, her extended family includes David Martin, II and wife Janey of Edmond, Mack Martin and his wife Vicky of Oklahoma City and Eva Sartin and husband James of Montgomery, Alabama; and five other grandchildren; two brothers, Irvin Moon and wife Kathleen of Rush Springs and Leon Moon and his wife Carol of Atoka; and one sister, Edyth Mae Wright of Lexington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both her husbands; one son, Billy Bob Singleton; and one brother, Glen Moon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Presbyterian Church or to Promise Care Hospice in memory of Irene Singleton Martin.
