Funeral service for James A. "Jim" Priddy will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2016 at Jackson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Les Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Priddy passed away on February 1, 2016 at his home in Frederick.
James Adron Priddy was born on September 9, 1935 in Grandview, Texas to James Herbert and Cleo Marie (Payne) Priddy. He grew up on a farm in Itasca, Texas. Jim attended Peoria Public school in Hill County, Texas. He served in the United State Navy from 1954 -1959 in the Korean Conflict. While stationed in Bremerton, Washington, he met and married Carol Ann Phelps on September 28, 1957 in Seattle. They moved to College Station at Bryan, Texas where he attended Texas A. & M. After returning to Seattle, Washington, he had worked at Todd Ship Yard as a P.E.R.T. Chief. He then owned and operated May Construction Company for 18 years before moving back to Itasca, Texas. In 1987, Jim moved to Frederick where he owned and operated Jim's Truck Stop, Oil Company & Wrecker Service. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a life member of the VFW and DAV.
He is survived by one son, Randall Priddy of Snohomish, Washington; three daughters, Rebecca Duncan and husband Richard of Davidson, Renee' Kolias and husband David of Shoreline, Washington and Ronda Raub and husband Joseph of Wichita Falls, Texas; one brother, Merlin Priddy and wife Sondra of Burleson, Texas; nine grandchildren, Rachel Latimer and husband Bucky, Cassidy Jay Haskett, Brandi Phillips and husband Josh, Adrian Hughes and husband Justin, Breanna Folkertsma and husband Aaron, David James Kolias, Lance, Landon and Lacie Jo Raub and three step-grandchildren, Debra, Tim and Ashley; eight great-grandchildren, Tyson and Tatum Sheffield, Miriah Latimer, Jakob, Kaegan and Asher Phillips, Kanyon & Kroslee Hughes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Randall, Rudoph, Jake (J.L) & Garland; three sisters, Lorraine, Vernell and Wanda.
