Obituary

Funeral service for former Frederick resident, Janet Sue Stone age 66, of Edmond, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2021, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, 921 W. Gladstone Ave., Frederick with Gary Cole officiating.  Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home.  Ms. Stone passed away Monday, March 29, 2021, at the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Janet Sue (Nix) Stone was born April 7, 1954, in El Reno, Oklahoma to Foy "Garland" and Carmen Vega (Ayala) Nix.  She attended Weatherford Public Schools.  On October 8, 1971, she and Randy Stone were united in marriage in Weatherford, Oklahoma; the following year she graduated from Weatherford High School in 1972.  She was a former employee of Marcom's Dress Shop in Frederick, Stone Insurance Agency, Lynn Hickey Dodge, and later worked as a Lighting Specialist for Builder's Warehouse in Oklahoma City.  Janet was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frederick where she sang in the choir for many years.  She was former President of the Jaycee Janes, and a member of the Young Insurance Agents Association and Professional Insurance Agent Association. As her sons grew up, she was active in the Bomber Booster Club where she made many lunches for the Seventh grade and Junior High Football Team.

She is survived by her three sons, Jason Stone and his wife Andrea of Edmond, Oklahoma, Chad Stone and his wife Kim of Collinsville, Texas, and Shane Stone and his fiancé Kaitlin Weirick of Mustang, Oklahoma; two brothers, Tommy Nix of Sayre, Oklahoma and Von Nix and his wife Cheryl of Edmond, Oklahoma; two sisters, Teresa Wilson and her husband Dathan of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Linda Black and her husband Bill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Ian Stone, Sarah Stone, Lance Stone and Lindsey Stone; her former husband, Randy Stone of Frederick, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Carmen Nix.

The family will receive family and friends on Thursday evening, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Frederick.
