Graveside service for former Frederick resident, Jay Otis Clark age 77, of Arlington, Texas, will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2020, with Rev. Ty Cope officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Clark passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at his home in Arlington.
Jay Otis Clark was born October 10, 1942, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Otis E. and Margaret (Zumwalt) Clark. He attended Frederick Public Schools and later transferred to Pauls Valley where he graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1961. He later attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma. On May 8, 1964, he and Carol Ann Woodall were united in marriage in Frederick, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army, where he served as company clerk. Jay worked for Brantly Helicopter in Frederick and later Bell Helicopter in Hurst, Texas. In 1972, he was employed in the trucking industry for many years, until his retirement in 2004. Jay enjoyed riding motorcycles, liked working rubik's cubes, and enjoyed working in his yard, as long as his health permitted. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Frederick.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Woodall Clark of the home; two sons, Jeff Clark and his wife Mary of Arlington, Texas and Kevin Clark of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Sara Ann Freeman and her husband O.C. of Clinton, Mississippi and Billie Cope and her husband J.M. of Frederick, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Matthew Clark of Dallas, Texas and Kendal Clark of Arlington, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Margaret Clark.
Mr. Clark may be viewed on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the Jackson Funeral Home from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
