Frederick
Celebration of Life for Jeffery Lynn Webb age 77, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church, 301 E. Grand Avenue, Frederick, with Rev. Daniel Pulver officiating. Private family burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Webb passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, at his home in Frederick.
Jeffery Lynn Webb was born June 3, 1947, in Corning, New York, to Lynn Bliss and Helen Elizabeth (Howell) Webb. He attended Muskogee Public School. After his parents passed away, he transferred to Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City where he graduated with the Class of 1965. On July 21, 1973, he and Rebecca Louise "Becky" Wallace were united in marriage in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and after his first year he entered the United States Air Force and served in the Philippines. He was discharged on September 5, 1975, as a 1st Lieutenant, and came back to OSU to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History.
Jeff spent his working years pouring his attention and care into others, especially youth, those struggling with addiction and trauma and was a tireless advocate for those who needed help. He was employed at Vernon State Hospital as a Clinical Psychiatric Social Worker; he later worked for Marie Detty Youth and Family Services in Lawton and managed the Frederick Office for many years. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the Southwest Oklahoma Juvenile Center in Manitou.
Jeff loved road trips with his bride of 51 years and vacations with his boys and their families. It didn't matter where, just as long as he was with family. He invested the better part of his young adult years raising his two sons and treasured them beyond words. He later relished being "Pops" to his seven beloved grandchildren. Jeff never met a stranger and was always there for his friends and neighbors with a big hug, a smile and a good joke. He truly loved to connect and make others feel special. Jeremy and Jason's friends all counted Jeff as a second dad, as he was always quick to lift up and encourage them in all their interests. He loved classic rock music and shared this with his boys from their earliest days. He had a photographic mind for music, lyrics and when and where he was when he heard a favorite song. He passed this rich love for music on to his children and grandchildren. He loved following OSU sports. Jeff was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Frederick.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Webb of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy and Heather Webb of Heath, Texas, and Jason and Kizzy Webb of Dallas, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Keegan Webb, Gunnar Webb, Layken Webb, Everett Webb, Wyatt Webb, Levi Webb, and Nash Webb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Helen Webb; two brothers and sister-in-law, Phillip and Margaret Webb, and Robert Eddins; one sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Terry Leard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, in memory of Jeffery Lynn Webb.
