Funeral service for Joanne Pride age 74, of Altus, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Altus Centennial Memorial Chapel in the Altus City Cemetery, with Rev. Reggie Copeland officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  Ms. Pride passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at her home in Altus.

Joanne Pride was born on May 19, 1950, in Snyder, Oklahoma to Gladys Marie (Allen) Pride.  She attended Tipton Public Schools. Joanne worked as a customer service representative for T.G.&Y, Sears, Beautico, Bealls and Altus Air Force Supply Exchange. Joanne was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed her western movies, especially John Wayne.  She attended Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Altus, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her life partner of 49 years, James Nathaniel White of the home; one son, Dana Pride of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Shadia Pride of Altus, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Gabriel Dodson, Uriel Dodson, and Aurora Pride; one sister, Bernice Brown; and one brother, Benny Perry of California.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Marie (Allen) Pride; one daughter, Alisha Pride; and four sisters, Beatrice Taylor, Florence Copeland, Katherine Wells, and Gayle Pride.
