Funeral service for John E. Dudley, age 72, of Tipton will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Tipton Church of Christ in Tipton with Jimmie C. Smith & Mike Suiter officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Dudley passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. John Elmo Dudley was born on September 19, 1942 in Tipton, Oklahoma to Herschel Elmo and Evelyn Irene (Cruse) Dudley. He attended Tipton Public School and graduated from Tipton High School in 1960. He continued his education at Southeastern State College in Durant, Oklahoma. John was united in marriage to Gean Rooks on November 26, 1965 in Tipton, Oklahoma. He had served seven years in the United States Army National Guard. From 1969 until 1994, John had been a cable splicer for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. During that time and until the present, he enjoyed farming and raising cattle. His two sons, five grandsons and one granddaughter were his pride and joy. John had served diligently on the Tipton School Board for 15 years as well as on the Oklahoma State School Board. He was a member of the Tipton Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Gean Dudley of the home; two sons, John Elmo Dudley, II and Kevin Michael Dudley both of Tipton; one brother, Stanley Dudley and his wife Vee of Logandale, Nevada; two sisters, Faye Rutledge of Elk City and Kathryn McCaslin of Tipton; one granddaughter, Brianna Marie Baker and her husband Matt; five grandsons, John Elmo Dudley III, Kanyen Lee Dudley, Curtis Andrew Dudley, Hunter Dale Dudley and Issac Jerome Dudley.
