Graveside service for former Davidson resident John W. Duncan, age 77, of Granite, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 30, 2014, at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Richard Lauer officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Duncan passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at his home in Granite. John Wayne Duncan was born October 12, 1936, in Antlers, Oklahoma to William Carl and Minerva Rosabell (McDaniel Duncan. On January 7, 1963, he and Corinne Elizabeth Teague were united in marriage at Vernon, Texas. He had worked as a farm hand for Wilbert Lewis for many years. He worked for Hodges Construction and did remodeling for Larry Sparks in Davidson. He later was employed by RECAP in Frederick. John enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar. He is survived by his wife, Corinne; four sons, Clint Duncan of Frederick, Walt Duncan and his wife Courtney of Altus, Terry Duncan and his wife Cindy of Frederick, and Johnny Duncan of Carnegie, Oklahoma; one daughter, Tina Gilliam and her husband Mike of Kiowa; four brothers, Tommy Duncan of Frederick, Jesse Duncan and his wife Janet of Frederick, Lloyd Duncan of Davidson and Lynn Duncan of Davidson; three sisters, Ruth Lemmond of Lubbock, Texas, Sue Penny and her husband Marvin of Mena, Arkansas and Rose Smith of Houston, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
