Graveside service for John Michael Hawkins, age 68, of Mountain Park, will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the Mountain Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Hawkins passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015, at his home. John Michael Hawkins was born on September 8, 1946 at Hobart, Oklahoma to Thurman Bryant and Lillith Lucille (Dempsey) Hawkins. He attended Consolidated #8 School and later transferred to Mountain Park Public School where he graduated in 1964. He served in the United States Army as military police in Pusan, Korea during the Vietnam Era. He came home from the military and farmed in the Mountain Park area for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Hawkins of Calgary Alberta, Canada; a grandson, Jacob Hawkins; one brother, Jimmy Hawkins and his wife Lisa of Mountain Park, Oklahoma; two sisters, Peggy Tedrick of Snyder, Oklahoma and Jill Smith and her husband Keith of Norman, Oklahoma; eight nieces and nephews, David Tedrick, Diana Wilson, John Bryant, Janet Greear, Jennifer Hawkins, Jared Hawkins, Brian Beatty and Brandi Wheeler; and several great-nieces and nephews.
