Obituary

Celebration of Life for John D. Morton, age 74, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2019, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Whitworth officiating. Inurnment will follow with Air Force honors in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery, escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders. Mr. Morton passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 1, 2019.

John Duane Morton was born on March 27, 1945, in Frederick, Oklahoma to JD and Mary Helen (Moss) Morton. He attended Frederick Public Schools and graduated from Frederick High School with the Class of 1963. He then attended Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Economics. On June 10, 1966, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Martha Gene Dill in Frederick, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Air Force from 1969 until 1975. John owned and operated Johnny's Men's Wear in Frederick. He later worked for Northop Grummen in Lawton, Oklahoma. After moving to Virginia, he worked as an Administrator Manager for Lockeed Martin for over twenty year. After his retirement in 2015, he and Marky returned to their hometown of Frederick, Oklahoma.

John's passion for motorcycles began in junior high with his friend, Tom Dotson, on their Cushman motorcycles. He continued to ride throughout his life with friends in Virginia, and since in Frederick, with the Frederick #CW Crew, whom he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Marky Morton of the home; one daughter, Shelby Morton of Frederick, Oklahoma; two grandchildren; Johnathan "J.T." Herndon of Manassas, Virginia and Hannah Herndon of Manassas, Virginia; one sister, Nancy Hasley and her husband Randy of Frederick, Oklahoma; two brothers-in-law, Rick Dill and his wife Teresa of Cookson, Oklahoma and Bob Bresenham of Burkburnett, Texas; one nephew, Travis Hasley; three nieces, Tina Wright, Gina Hatfield and Krissy Mustard; and special friends, Georgia and Bobby Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JD and Mary Helen Morton, father-in-law, Troy Dill; mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Georgine and Coy Hutton; sister-in-law, Darla Bresenham; nephew, Tyce Gaudreault; and one grandson, Kyle Matthew Morton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick School Enrichment Foundation for Big Topics or Robotics, or the Tillman County Food Bank in memory of John D. Morton.
