Funeral service for Joseph Kevin Stropes age 52, of Manitou will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Logan officiating.  Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home.  Mr. Stropes passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016, at the United Regional Health Care Center in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Joseph Kevin Stropes was born on October 3, 1963, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Everett Eldon and Irene Margaret (Richardson) Stropes.  He attended Chickasha Public School and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1981.  He served in the United States Marine Corps.  After his military service he received his Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha.  He later received his Masters Degree from Cameron University.   Kevin taught high school science in Frederick and Hollis.  He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Stropes of the home; two sons, Eric Stropes and William Stropes and his wife Jessica all of Frederick;  two sisters,  Barbara Boren and her husband Altus of Norman and Iris Allen and her husband Michael of Albuquerque, New Mexico;  and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Stropes; and one brother, Everett Stropes, Jr.
