Juanita Lea (Muse) Wells Griffin was born October 31, 1923, in Davidson, Oklahoma to James Franklin and Sharlotte Mae (Sutton) Muse. She attended Snyder Public Schools, graduating from Snyder High School in 1939. She later attended Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. On September 19, 1942, she and Melvin Lee Wells were united in marriage at Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. She later married John Woodrow Griffin on October 21, 1966, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Mr. Griffin preceded her in death on October 10, 1998. Juanita worked as a riveter at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City during World War II. She later farmed and worked as an interior designer in Frederick and Altus for many years. Juanita was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Frederick where she had served on the board of director. She also had served on the board of the ASCS Office of Tillman County.
She is survived by one son, Mike Wells and his wife Shannon of Norman, Oklahoma; one daughter, Lynn Hammack and her husband Dennis of Davidson, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Chad Mitchell and his finance, Kelda Roskam, Brian Mitchell and his wife Kayla, Ginger Thiboult and her husband Andy, Cody Wells and his wife Nicaela and CheyAnne Elizabeth Wells; her great-grandchildren, Allison Mitchell, Rachel Mitchell, Megan Mitchell, Reed Clymer, Hayden Thiboult, Ephram Wells and Zane Wells; her step-children and spouses, Katie Maines and her husband James of Frederick, Oklahoma, Buddy Griffin of Temple, Texas, Rob Griffin and his wife Sherri of Moore, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Pool and her husband Ty Cope of Belton, Texas, John Millican of Temple, Texas, and Shirley Griffin Capps of Frederick, Oklahoma; her step-grandchildren, Jeb Stone, Si Millican, Sherri Jacobs, Tami Lewis and Janlyn Hannah; and several step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Franklin and Sharlotte Mae Muse; her husband's, Woodrow Griffin and Melvin Wells; one son, James Alexander Wells; and two step-children, JoAnn Millican and Marvin Griffin.
