Funeral service for former Tipton resident, June Heacock age 83, of Yukon, Oklahoma will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Heacock passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015, at her home in Yukon. June (Blythe) Heacock was born May 31, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Dillard and Pearle (Luper) Blythe. She attended Varnum High School graduating with the Class of 1950. She later attended Great Plains Vo-Tech in Lawton where she received her Licensed Practical Nurse Degree, working as a L.P.N. from 1965 to 1972. She later received her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing from Cameron University. She worked as a Registered Nurse from 1972 till May of 1997. June worked for Saint Anthony's Hospital and Bone and Joint Hospital for several years; later working for Mercy Medical Center in Oklahoma City for over 16 years, retiring in 1997. She received Nurse of the Year in 1996 from Mercy Medical Center for her excellence in nursing. She was a member of the Peiedmont United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Ken Heacock of the home; one son, Mike Gosa and his wife YeVon of Altus, Oklahoma; one daughter, Diane Urquhart and her husband Mark of Plano, Texas; six grandchildren, Lori Odom and her husband David, Tracy Miller, Joshua Cope and his wife Donna, Jacob Cope and his wife Sunnye, Jermey Cope, and Neal Schowengerdt; and two great-granddaughters, Aimee Odom and Jordyn Cope. She was preceded in death by her parents.
