Graveside service for Kati (Griffin) Maines age 76, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Pulvar officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Kati went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at The Courtyards at Magnolia Creek Memory Care Assisted Living in Altus.
Doris Kathleen "Kati" (Griffin) Maines was born November 21, 1947, in Vernon, Texas to John Woodrow and Anna Ruth (Turner) Griffin. Kati attended Weaver Public School west of Frederick, graduating from Weaver High School with the Class of 1965. She later attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work. Kati worked has a Social Worker for the Department of Human Services for many years. On June 30, 1984, she and James "Jug" Maines were united in marriage in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2018. Kati was an avid reader, loved gardening and watching birds. Overall, a lover of all of "God's Creation". She was an enthusiastic Alabama Fan, and didn't care what anyone thought. Kati had a deep abiding love for her granddaughter, Sasha, and always loved doting over her. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Frederick.
She is survived by one son, Jeb Stone of University Heights, Ohio; three grandchildren, Sasha Stone of San Antonio, Texas, Bob Blankenship of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Blair McMillian of Edmond, Oklahoma; two brothers, Weldon Norman Griffin of Temple, Texas, and Robbin J. Griffin (Sherri Griffin) of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one sister, Elizabeth Jon Pool (Ty Cobb) of Belton, Texas; brother-in-law, John Millican of Temple, Texas; one sister-in-law, Shirley Griffin Capps of Frederick, Oklahoma; and six nieces and nephews, Sherri Jacobs, Tami Lewis, Si Millican, Nick Griffin, Anna Williams, and Janlyn Griffin Elwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Anna Ruth Griffin; her husband, Jug Maines, a daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Bill Blankenship; one brother, Marvin Griffin and one sister, Joanne Millican.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in memory of Kati (Griffin) Maines.
