Funeral service for L.A. Todd, age 78, of rural Tipton will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Tipton Church of Christ with Ken Waugh and Mike Suiter officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Todd passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at his home. L. A. Todd was born on April 26, 1937 in Tipton, Oklahoma to Hubert William and Irene Ophelia Woodell Todd. He attended school at Laing and graduated from Laing High School in 1955. He then attended Draughon's Business School in Wichita Falls, Texas. On April 5, 1958, he was united in marriage to Julia Phyllis Sturgess in Tipton, Oklahoma. L. A. had farmed and ranched in the Tipton area for his entire life. He was very active in community organizations including the Tipton School Board, Humphrey's Co-op Board, the 911 Board, and had served on the FSA Board for over 20 years. He was still active on the Soil Conservation Board and the Tillman County Fair Board. He had worked and served on the Board for the Oklahoma State Spring Livestock Show for over 30 years. L. A. was a very active member of the Tipton Church of Christ where he served as Elder and on the Tipton Children's Home Board. He is survived by his wife Phyllis of the home; two sons, Leigh Alan Todd of McCloud and John Robert Todd and wife Suzanne of Spring Branch, Texas; four sisters, Melba Reece and husband Max of Wichita Falls, Texas, Linda Armstrong and husband Lewis of Fayetteville, Georgia, Catherine Grampp and husband Larry of Broomfield, Colorado and Paula Hughes of Arlington, Texas; six grandchildren, Kristi Fryer and husband Brad, Brittany Kotzur and husband Richard, Julia Durrance and husband John, Lane Todd, Jason Todd and Joshua Todd; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Samantha & Will Fryer, Alexis and Viviana Kotzur; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Sue Ann Todd on February 21, 2002. Jackson Funeral Home 580-335-7447
